DESIGN-MAKE-BUILD™
The Design-Make-Build approach links early design intent with efficient manufacturing and installation practices, helping project teams reduce waste, optimize material use, and deliver more predictable, sustainable outcomes.
Whole-home componentization strengthens these efficiencies even more. By manufacturing engineered components with greater accuracy and coordination, teams use less material and create far less waste, leading to the reductions shown here.
Whole Home Componentization
Job Site Waste Reduced
Fewer Hangers Required
Less Wood Product Used
Iterative Design and Rigorous Testing Ensure Product Safety and Quality
As a global leader in construction technology, we prioritize the safety and reliability of our products. It keeps our communities safe and builds trust with our partners. Here are just a few of the ways we’re ensuring the safety and quality of our products.
Integrating Customer Feedback
Structured processes for integrating customer feedback into our products and services
Third Party Evaluations
Rigorous third-party safety evaluations for every new machinery product
Virtual Simulations
Virtual testing simulations integrated with physical testing to save resources by refining designs before fabrication, and allowing us to test far more scenarios virtually than could ever be tested in a physical simulation
Automated Solutions Testing
100,000 sq ft. automated solutions testing facility, allowing us to replicate real-world usage of our products and identify potential issues before products reach our customers
Technology Snapshot
Blade II Saw Minimizes Waste and Saves Resources
The MatchPoint® Blade II™ Saw features our proprietary Board Stretcher software, which optimizes material use during the cutting process. An advanced optimization engine analyzes each board to maximize yield, automatically cataloging and retaining off-cuts as usable inventory for future components. This capability helps reduce waste and turn potential scrap into valuable material.
What's new this year?
Enabling the Future of Home Building
We collaborate with building partners to advance new construction methods and technology to make homes more efficient and sustainable.
Posi-Joist Paves the Way for High-Efficiency Ventilation

Taylor Wimpey partnered with MiTek U.K. and Ireland to engineer floor layouts for high-performance, low-emission housing, advancing their journey toward delivering net-zero homes. This collaboration centered on the Minsmere development in Somerset, U.K., where MiTek provided optimized floor designs utilizing PosiJoist™ technology.
PosiJoist is specifically engineered to integrate with Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems—a cornerstone of sustainable homebuilding. Following rigorous installation tests alongside Tenmat and Vent-Axia, MiTek validated the integration of four large ducts through the ceiling. This achievement distinguishes MiTek as the only U.K. and Ireland joist manufacturer to have successfully passed these rigorous installation benchmarks.
Training the Next Generation of Sustainable Home Builders

To support the industry's evolution, MiTek and Zehnder Climate Solutions co-developed a new MVHR training station at the Zehnder Academy in 2025. This facility serves as a vital training ground for the next generation of professionals dedicated to clean energy and sustainable building.
By uniting Zehnder’s ventilation expertise with MiTek’s off-site construction knowledge, the co-funded and co-built stand provides hundreds of learners each year with hands-on experience in building healthier, more efficient homes.
Beyond training, Zehnder and MiTek collaborated with Bellway Homes on their Future Home Hub live site to pilot the technologies defining tomorrow’s housing. This builds on MiTek’s enduring relationship with Bellway, focused on developing pioneering plots for net-zero, carbon-ready homes.
